Celebrating Warwickshire’s creativity
The creative and artistic talent of the people of Warwickshire is being showcased through the power of the online community.
A survey has revealed that Warwickshire has a wealth of creative interest and talent - more than 45 per cent of Warwickshire residents regularly participate in arts activities.
This month Warwickshire County Council is launching a new online Flickr group and encouraging residents of Warwickshire to contribute photographs and videos that showcase their creativity.
Warwickshire County Council’s Assistant Arts Officer Laura Kenwright said: “The idea behind the concept is to celebrate the wealth and diversity of artistic talent within Warwickshire.
“Flickr is an incredible and free resource, we are excited by the prospect of seeing creative individuals and groups from Warwickshire participate in this exciting way.
"We are particularly keen to stress that we would like to see this site utilised by lovers of all art forms – music, literature, theatre, dance, digital media and visual arts, and beyond. We want to see Warwickshire’s creativity.”
People of all ages and experiences are encouraged to upload photographs and videos demonstrating their creative talents; whether you are a professional artist or enjoy the arts as a hobby, log onto http://www.flickr.com/groups/creativewarwickshire/ and upload photos that demonstrate your creativity and show the world the wealth of talent, enthusiasm and innovation Warwickshire has to offer.
