Kerb’ing accidents

Nuneaton superstore Asda has won praise from Warwickshire County Council’s Road Safety Team for their continued support of a road safety initiative for youngsters.

KerbSafe, which is a practical course for children aged 4 – 6, has been running in Stockingford Infant school for many years – thanks mainly to volunteers and two staff from Nuneaton Asda.

Sharon Hobbs and Tracy McCullock from Asda have always been encouraged and supported by their bosses at the store, and regularly visit the school to help teach children vital road safety skills.

Stan Milewski, Warwickshire County Council’s Principal Road Safety Officer, said: “This scheme depends wholly on volunteers. We really appreciate Asda’s commitment to the success of KerbSafe in Stockingford Infants over the years and want to take this opportunity to thank them again and all the other volunteers at the school for their continued hard work and commitment to their local community.”

Sharon and Tracey along with four other volunteers will be presented with special KerbSafe certificates at the school during a `People who help us’ assembly.
