Summer Cycle Training Courses

Warwickshire County Council’s Road Safety team are inviting children around the county to make the most of the summer holidays and improve their cycling abilities.

Manor Park School, Beaumont Road, is the venue for training in the Nuneaton area and the council is offering both beginners and more advanced Bikeability courses.

A Level 2 course will run on Tuesday and Wednesday 10 & 11 August from 9.15 to 12.15. This two day course for children aged 9 years and over is conducted on the road and includes an assessment.  The cost is £24 per pupil.

For younger or new cyclists, the Level 1 Bikeability course is also available. This takes place on Monday 9 August from 9.15 to 12.15 and is available to children aged 7 and over at a cost of £15 per pupil. Children who successfully complete courses will receive a certificate and badge.

For further information or to book a place contact Mary Holliday on 01926 412776 or go to http://www.warwickshire.gov.uk/roadsafety and book on-line through the cycling pages.

Stan Milewski, Senior Road Safety Officer says: “Cycling is a fun, healthy activity. With training children can improve their biking skills, learn road rules and observation skills essential for helping them to keep safe.”
