Teachers checking in

Last week 15 teachers from schools and colleges across Warwickshire had the opportunity of experiencing life in the hotel industry, courtesy of Q Hotels, one of the leading hotel groups in the West Midlands.

The Stratford hotel in Stratford upon Avon opened its doors to eager teachers of the hospitality and travel and tourism diplomas, food technology and careers advisors.

They were shown around the hotel and received lively presentations from the various Heads of Department and the General Manager.  Everyone gained something from the day; the teachers found out more detail about how the hotel was run and the possible career opportunities, and the heads of department received experience of presenting which was excellent for their own personal development.

Delegates heard about Q hotels branding ethos of “one of a kind” which permeates all that they do. Their Chef’s Academy was also held up as exemplar and these real life examples will form the basis of various schemes of work for students in schools and colleges.

Julie O’Toole, Employer and Engagement Manager from Warwickshire Education Business Partnership, said: “The day was a great success and everyone went away buzzing. The team atmosphere was clear which undoubtedly filters down to the customers in excellent customer service. My sincere thanks go to Harry and the team.”
