Advance notice of work at Princes Drive HWRC

Warwickshire County Council’s Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC) at Princes Drive is warning the public of disruption in the coming weeks as essential major water main replacement and repair work takes place.

The work is expected to start over the course of the next week.

In addition to this work, in mid-September, Severn Trent Water will be carrying out flood relief scheme operations on its adjoining premises, and this may affect the exit route slightly from Princes Drive HWRC.

This is a longer term project over two years and is only expected to cause a minor incursion on the road out of the recycling centre.  It is anticipated that the Action 21 ReUse Shop should remain unaffected by the longer term job.

Furthermore, some general site improvements will be undertaken later in the year which involve tree removal and road widening but we will issue reminders for these works nearer the time.

Chris Moreton, waste management operations manager with Warwickshire County Council said:

“We apologise in advance to customers for any disruption caused, and thank them for their patience while the jobs are carried out.

“We will, of course, endeavour to minimise problems for our customers but regrettably cannot make any guarantees,

“Full signage and due notice will be provided but we would like to make everybody using the site aware that the course of the road out will alter and that they should take due care when leaving, especially on the corner half way down the ramp.”
