Benn Hall to host partnership event
Rugby Local Strategic Partnership (LSP) will be holding an event in the town this week.
The event, on Thursday (8 July), is an opportunity for local groups and individuals to hear about the work of the Local Strategic Partnership for Rugby.
The Rugby Local Strategic Partnership is a partnership of local organisations, including Rugby Borough and Warwickshire County Councils, NHS Warwickshire, Warwickshire Police and a range of other organisations from the voluntary, business, and community sectors.
The LSP enables local organisations and the community to work together to make Rugby borough a better place in which to live and work or to visit.
The event is being held from 5pm to 7pm at the Benn Hall in Newbold Road in the town and will also offer the opportunity for people to make suggestions for activities that the LSP can undertake locally to make Rugby a better place.
The event will include an annual report from Rugby LSP Board, an opportunity to comment on theme group action plans and cross-theme working and a summary of LSP future plans.
Councillor Leigh Hunt, Rugby Borough Council’s Portfolio Holder for Sustainable Inclusive Communities, said: "The Rugby Local Strategic Partnership is keen to let people know what work it has been involved in and give them an opportunity to have their say and influence partnership working in the borough. We will be consulting on our emerging Regeneration Strategy for the borough and I would urge people to come along to see how they can engage in it.
"I hope people will come along and find out more about the different activities that are being undertaken."
Rugby Borough Commander, Chief Inspector Bob Musgrove said: “Events of this nature play an important role in improving public confidence in Rugby borough. Rugby LSP want local communities to be involved in the decisions that affect them and kept informed of how Warwickshire Police and partners are working together to protect communities from harm.”
Councillor Peter Butlin, Warwickshire County Council’s Support Portfolio Holder for Workforce and Governance, said: “As a partner of the Rugby Local Strategic Partnership, Warwickshire County Council is keen that local residents and organisations come and hear about the partnership’s work and tell us what areas and items they would like us, together, to take action on in the borough.”
