Fire support volunteers presented with new kit

A volunteer support service working with Warwickshire County Council’s Fire and Rescue Service is set to receive a useful boost to their kit, thanks to donations from the public.

The Fire and Emergency Support Unit (FESU), a partnership between the British Red Cross the Fire Service, is designed to meet the needs of people who have suffered damage to their homes following a fire, flood or similar incident anywhere in the county.

The team of trained volunteers, based in Kenilworth, will be handed a new Oxygen Therapy pack following a fundraising drive by the Cross Keys Motorcycle Club who have donated the pack.

A presentation will be made during a special fun day – featuring live bands and a kids’ corner - at the Plough Inn in Bedworth from 12pm on Saturday 3 July.

Jeff Stevens, FESU Co-ordinator, said: “We’re delighted with the donation of the Oxygen Therapy pack which will be a useful addition to our equipment.

“We would like to offer our appreciation to the public and the motorcycle club for their help and continued support in enabling us to offer services alongside firefighters in Warwickshire.”
