New look for Leamington Library
Leamington Library in Lower Parade is getting a makeover soon, with lots of improvements and a ‘new look’.
Customers can find out about the changes planned at two special information sessions in the library: morning coffee on August 24 from 10.30am - 12.30pm, and afternoon tea on September 6 from 2.30pm to 4.30pm.
Several Warwickshire County Council libraries are being improved and updated this year. Work at Leamington is likely to start in the Autumn and details of any temporary arrangements necessary will be announced nearer the time.
“This is really exciting for Leamington Library,” said Divisional Library Manager Tracey Baker. “I hope local people will bear with us during the alterations and forgive any inconvenience caused because the makeover, once completed, will make Leamington Library even better.”
The improvements include a new and more relaxed layout and facilities for laptop users, who will soon be able to take advantage of free public wifi access to the internet.
Other features will include a larger children’s area, and revamped local studies, large print and audio book sections. Self-service kiosks are being installed allowing customers to borrow and return books and other loan items themselves, quickly and easily.
The self-service equipment will release staff from counter duties so they can spend more time helping customers.
More will be explained, over tea and coffee, at the two sessions - and everyone is invited along to find out more.
