Residents get say on bus services & more

Bus services, Police priorities, local grants and more will be on the agenda at the next meeting of the Kenilworth Community Forum on Monday 6 September.

The Forum will be held at Kenilworth School Upper Hall from 6.30pm.

The meeting is open to all residents living in Kenilworth town and will be chaired by Kenilworth Town Councillor Pauline Edwards.

Community Forums are regular public meetings that allow you to raise issues or local concerns and are a way of keeping you up-to-date with what is happening in YOUR community.

From 6.30pm, residents will be able to talk to the Police about any individual or confidential issues they may have at an informal surgery, before the Forum meeting starts at 7pm.

Local people will be able to have their say on the top priorities that the Kenilworth Safer Neighbourhood Team should focus their efforts on in the local area over the next few months. The Team plays a central role in the Community Forum, attending every meeting, both to talk about their work over the previous three months and to gauge concerns from local people.

Residents will also receive a presentation from Warwick District Council and Warwickshire County Council about bus services, bus routes, bus stops and travel information in Kenilworth. This will be followed by an open question and answer session where residents will get the opportunity to discuss their opinions on bus travel in the town with council representatives.

Residents at the meeting will also be able to influence which local groups and projects receive funding from the Forum Grant Fund. The Community Forum holds a pot of money to support local projects and tackle issues raised as priorities in Kenilworth.

Other items on the agenda include an update on the Community Speedwatch scheme, the High Speed 2 rail link and an update from Warwickshire County Council’s Youth Service on Abbey Cinema and the Castle Farm skate ramp.
