Cash to revitalise Shipston

Ideas aimed at rejuvenating Shipston on Stour’s town centre could be in line for a cash windfall.

Warwickshire County Council is again inviting organisations who have a project idea which could help improve the vitality of the town centre to apply to a fund worth £24,000.

The funding has been made available as a result of the development at Tilemans Lane in Shipston on Stour, and is ring-fenced for town centre initiatives. A funding round earlier in the year gave approval to four local projects but there is still funding available for new projects to apply for support.

Projects supported to date include a campaign to promote businesses which stock ‘Stour Grown’ products, a retail and leisure information leaflet, promotional support for the Wool Fair and electronic display boards.

The county council’s Stratford Area Committee has decided that projects which support businesses and promote Shipston on Stour can apply to the fund.

Anyone with a funding idea which could support the town centre must submit applications between now until the October 18.
