Action on public’s big issues in Rugby
Police priorities, rural CCTV, young people in the community and more will be on the agenda when the Rugby Town West Community Forum and Earl Craven Community Forum meet next week.
The Rugby Town West Community Forum will be held on Wednesday 15 September at the Indian Community Centre, Edward Street, from 6.30pm.
The Earl Craven Community Forum will be held on Thursday 16 September at Binley Woods Village Hall, Rugby Road, from 7pm.
Community Forums are a great way for people to find out about big issues affecting the area, get answers to questions and influence local decision-making.
Anyone with a question about a local issue can go along and put it to local Councillors and officers from the County and Borough Councils as well as representatives from Warwickshire Police’s Safer Neighbourhood Teams.
People attending meetings can also suggest agenda items for the next meeting and help set up to three priorities for their local Safer Neighbourhood Team to tackle over the next three months.
At the Rugby Town West Community Forum in June, residents were told about improvements that are set to be made to the A4071 Coventry Road in Bilton by Warwickshire County Council.
Residents at the Earl Craven Community Forum decided that their community safety priorities for the next three months, to be actioned by their Safer Neighbourhoods Team and Rugby Borough Council, should be speeding in Long Lawford, acquisitive crime in Binley Woods and dog fouling in Ryton on Dunsmore.
Further Community Forum meetings will take place in the following weeks:
Brownsover, Benn & Newbold (BBN) Community Forum
Monday 20 September
6.30pm onwards
Brownsover Community School, Webb Drive, Brownsover
Fosse Community Forum
Tuesday 21 September
