Fond farewell to Warwickshire’s Assistant Chief Fire Officer

Warwickshire’s Assistant Chief Fire Officer, Simon Frost is retiring after 30 years of service with Warwickshire County Council’s Fire and Rescue Service.

Simon has served in Warwickshire since 1980 progressing through the ranks to become the County’s Assistant Chief Officer in April 2008.
 
Paying tribute to his time in Warwickshire, Simon said:  “I am proud to have been a Warwickshire Officer and I will never forget the good friends and colleagues that have served this community with pride and professionalism. What has made this job is the people, who over the years have shared both the highs and the lows and that is something I will always remember.” 

Warwickshire’s Chief Fire Officer Graeme Smith said: “Simon has been an exceptional Assistant Chief Fire Officer and I am sorry to see him leave. Simon has provided Warwickshire with 30 years service and has been heavily involved in the development of the service to protect and serve Warwickshire residents during that time.

"Simon is well respected by his friends and colleagues and we wish him all the very best in his retirement.”

Simon began his career in the fire service as a firefighter in Nuneaton in 1980. He was then promoted to Crew Manager in 1986 at Bedworth Fire Station. Throughout his time in the service, Simon has worked at stations across the county including Bedworth, Coleshill, Rugby and Nuneaton.

In 2001 Simon was promoted to Divisional Officer at the Training centre in Bedworth where he spent a number of years before being promoted once again to the Assistant Chief Fire Officer based at Leamington Fire Station.
