Summer’s out but the fun continues in Nuneaton

A season of exciting activities is on offer for young people in the Camp Hill and Galley Common areas of Nuneaton, thanks to Warwickshire County Council’s Youth and Community Service.

Youth club drop in sessions, music, and sports projects are just some of those being offered alongside health and welfare advice sessions and life skills workshops to name only a few examples.

The programme is open to young people aged between 10-13 and 13-19, and will run throughout the autumn and winter months at youth centres across the area including CHESS at Camp Hill.

It follows a successful four-week summer programme delivered by High Five Coaching and the county council’s Youth and Community Service, which saw attendance at sessions during the programme reach nearly 500.  Young people were given the opportunity to take part in activities ranging from sailing to arts and sports to cooking.

Jackie Earl, Warwickshire County Council’s IYSS Locality co-ordinator for Camp Hill and Galley Common, said: “We’ve had some great reviews of the summer programme from young people, their parents and the local community, so we’re hoping to continue that success with our autumn offering.

“It will give young people something positive to do when the nights draw in, and it encourages them to try something they may not otherwise have the opportunity to do.”
