Teen reading gets the thumbs up at Kenilworth Library

Young people are being asked for their views on a proposed new reading group soon to be launched at Kenilworth Library

The teen group which will be a one year pilot funded by the Kenilworth Institute Trust Fund will give young people the opportunity to have their say in shaping a reading group and wider reading activities in the library service.

Elaine Barker; Senior Librarian said: “We have lots of events for younger children so we are really pleased that we are now able to offer something new and exciting for teens.

"We hope it will be a place where young people will have the chance to socialise and meet new friends as well as discover a wealth of different authors and books.

“At the moment we are in discussion with young people to find out who would be interested in joining a group.  We would like to see the young people themselves taking ownership for the group and its activities.”

Surveys will be available in Kenilworth and central area libraries until Saturday 9 October or downloadable from Warwickshire County Council Website at http://www.warwickshire.gov.uk/libraries.
