Thousands of young people at PaYP summer activities
‘Snax N Sports’ sessions are as popular with young people as ever according to the latest figures from Warwickshire County Council’s Positive about Young People programme.
During the six-week school holidays, 140 Snax N Sports sessions were held with more than 3,700 9 to 13-year-olds attending the free activities over the course of the programme.
This year, Positive about Young People evaluated 1926 participants – up more than 334 on the previous year – with results showing very high satisfaction rates.
Furthermore, 767 parents or carers and 230 community members were surveyed about how successful they felt these programmes were in the local area, with much positive feedback received.
Michael Maguire, Head of Warwickshire County Council’s Positive about Young People programme, said: “We’ve had yet another successful year with even more young people taking part in activities throughout Warwickshire.
“The programmes popularity highlights how young people and parents realise the importance of play and the positive affect it has on the community such as reducing anti-social behaviour.”
