Tell us what you think
Over September and October, Warwickshire County Council’s Library & Information Service is finding out what young people think of their libraries.
Public Library User Surveys are to be carried out in all of the county’s thirty nine libraries including the five mobile libraries.
It means every young person who visits the library will get a chance to have their say on the stock, staff and services provided in their area.
Warwickshire Library & Information Service is constantly on the move – in more ways than one. The county has five mobiles, in addition to the libraries spread across the five districts. To make sure the service keeps on heading in the right direction, staff need the help of library-users countywide.
“We’ll be asking visitors under 16 years old to complete questionnaires. The information that we gain from these surveys is vitally important to us,” said Ayub Khan, Head of Libraries - Strategy.
“The surveys will help us find out what young people who use our libraries really think of what’s on offer and what they’d like to see change. So if you are asked to fill in a questionnaire, please say ‘Yes’.”
A similar survey was last carried out in 2007; over 3,200 responses were received across the County. The following details the percentage of people who rated aspects of the service as ‘good’: 86% Library Overall, 80% Books, 69% Computer Facilities, 59% Homework Help.
99% thought the library was a friendly place, 98% a safe place, 96% easy to get to, 86% open when they want to use it, 95% bright and cheerful, 97% a place they want to come to and 93% a place with lots of things to interest them.
