Get application in for Kenilworth grants

Local groups, organisations and services that would like funding for projects that benefit people in Kenilworth are being invited to apply for a share of a special fund.

Warwickshire County Council and Warwick District Council have made a pot of money available to Kenilworth’s Community Forum, which the Forum can award to support both new and ongoing projects.

The closing date for applications for funds is 15th November, but groups are being invited to get their applications in now.

The fund is aimed at community and voluntary organisations and town/parish councils. It provides grants of usually no more than £3,000 for small-scale projects that meet community needs and, ideally, contribute towards the achievement of priorities identified by the Kenilworth Community Forum.

Councillor Pauline Edwards, Chair of the Kenilworth Community Forum, said: “The money that Warwick District Council and Warwickshire County Council has made available to the Forum is to support projects that local people agree would be of benefit to the community.”

All residents of Kenilworth are invited to help decide which projects, from the applications received, will receive the grant awards at the next Community Forum, being held on 6th December.

The meeting will take place from 7pm at the Kenilworth Youth and Community Centre, Abbey End.

Local groups are invited to apply to the grant fund by completing a brief application form which is available on the Warwickshire County Council website at http://www.warwickshire.gov.uk/warwickarea or by phoning the Community Partnership Team on 01926 456102.
