Help for net novices in Get Online Week
If you’ve never used the internet and feel you want to have a go, help is at hand from Warwickshire County Council.
The Adult and Community Learning and Library services are offering a chance for local people to find out what the web can do for them through supported drop-in sessions at local libraries. The sessions are being run in as part of national Get Online Week (18 – 24 October 2010) and take place in
Warwick Library Tuesday 19 October 10am – 12noon
Leamington Library Tuesday 19 October 2 - 4pm
Kenilworth Library Friday 22 October 10am – 12noon
Alcester Library Wednesday 20 October 2.00pm - 4.00pm
It is estimated that there are still over nine million adults in the UK who have never used the internet.
Richard Heath, of Warwickshire Adult and Community Learning said
“There are many reasons why people aren’t online – lack of experience, not having a computer at home or not feeling there’s anything in it for them. These sessions are designed to help anyone who is curious to ‘dip their toe in the water’, and to provide information about further support and training.”
