Get your skates on this half term
Young people in and around Stratford have a chance to put their skates on during the October half term break.
Warwickshire County Council’s Positive about Young People programme, working with Stratford District Council with funding from the Big Lottery Fund, are offering a free mobile skate park at two locations on selected days.
The supervised sessions will run at Long Itchington Primary School on Tuesday 26 October from 10am to 1pm; and at Thomas Jolyffe Primary School on Friday 29 October from 10am to 1pm.
Participants will be able to bring their own Skateboards, BMX bikes, roller blades and push scooters. However all riders must wear safety equipment (a limited supply will be available – although it is advisable that they bring their own to avoid disappointment).
Mark Bolton, Operations Development Manager for Warwickshire County Council’s Positive about Young People programme, said: “The mobile skate park is always a welcome addition to the half term break for young people in Stratford and continues to be very popular.
“It gives them the opportunity to keep active while having fun in a supervised environment, and it’s easy on the pocket.”
