Youth Justice Service publicity recognised nationally
Warwickshire’s Youth Justice Service has been short-listed for a national award for the promotion of youth justice in the community.
The Communicating Youth Justice Awards are organised by the Youth Justice Board to showcase best practice in the publicity of projects and the work they do to help make communities safer.
Supported by Warwickshire County Council’s Communications team, Warwickshire’s Youth Justice Service has been recognised for the promotion of an innovative programme helping young victims of youth crime recover from their ordeal.
The Goals UK Motivational Workshops are open to 16 to 24-year-olds and help them re-build their self-esteem and confidence, and invite young people from, across the county to take advantage of the three-day sessions.
Judges will make their final choice early next month before BBC Home Editor Mark Easton announces the winner of the Communicating Youth Justice Award at the YJB’s conference in Newport, South Wales, on 24 November.
Heather Shilling, Operations Manager for the Youth Justice Service, said: “The Youth Justice Service and partners in Warwickshire are leading the way in promoting youth justice to residents and we’re particularly pleased with the success of the Goals UK Motivational Workshops.
“It is down to the hard work of practitioners, participants and their families that projects like this work, so it is fantastic that we have been short-listed by the Youth Justice Board. We will have our fingers crossed for a good result next month.”
