Support group for LGBT young people in Nuneaton
A support group for young people in Nuneaton who are Gay, Lesbian, Trans, Bisexual or Questioning is inviting new members to sign up.
Organised by Terrence Higgins Trust and supported by Warwickshire County Council’s Youth and Community Service, Godiva Young Gay and Lesbians (GYGL) is a group for 13 to 25-year-olds living in the area to meet every Thursday.
There is also a group running in Coventry on a Friday night for young people living in the city.
It provides a safe space for LGBTQ young people to explore feelings and life circumstances, as well as offering support in making positive and informed choices.
It also aims to promote health and well-being, reduce stigma and discrimination around sexuality and gender, and ensures LGBTQ people are involved in agendas or consultation regarding diversity and inclusion.
Jackie Earl, Locality Coordinator (Camp Hill and Galley Common) for Warwickshire County Council’s Youth and Community Service, said: “Godiva Young Gay and Lesbians offers a safe environment where 13 to 25-year-olds can chat, discuss key issues and take part in a variety of activities.”
For more details about the support group including location and times, contact Terrence Higgins Trust on 024 76 229292. One-to-one support is also available throughout the week when required.
