In order to carry out improvements Warwick Library will be closed for two weeks from Monday 8 November 2010.

Improvements will take place to the entrance including the removal of the counter to provide an attractive display area.  ‘Quick pick’ items will be brought to the front of the library so that customers can easily see the most popular library books and other resources on offer.

The newspaper and seating area will be moved so that it has a fantastic view across Warwick. The Teenage area will be improved and books set out in a more informal way. A more user friendly layout is planned for the specialist Local Studies and Music & Drama sections.

The library will also have a new room that can be used for events such as author visits or coffee mornings.

The refurbishment will include the installation of new state-of-the-art self service machines that will give customers the opportunity to borrow, return and renew books themselves.

Tracey Baker, Divisional Library Manager for Warwickshire County Council, said:
