Young people get in to the festive spirit
Young people are starting the festive countdown early by designing a Christmas card for Warwickshire County Council’s Positive about Young People programme.
Every year, 8 to 13-year-olds attending PODS get their thinking caps on to come up with a festive front cover and safety message or poem inside reminding young people to be aware of the different seasonal hazards that they could face.
The top three entries will receive a prize with the winning design being printed and used as PaYP’s official Christmas card for 2010.
More than one hundred entries were received during last year’s competition, which was won by two pupils from Southam Primary School.
Mark Bolton, Operations Manager for Warwickshire County Council’s Positive about Young People programme, said: “Young people really enjoy designing our Christmas card and we receive many excellent entries every year. I’m sure this year will be no different.
“We’re looking for creative, festive front covers with key messages inside to ensure everyone has a fun but safe Christmas.”
