Meeting on Community Forum’s future
There will be a special meeting of the Warwick Rural West Community Forum on Thursday (2 December) following feedback from Warwickshire County Council’s recent Localities Review.
It will take place at 7.30pm in Committee Room 2, Shire Hall, Warwick.
The extra, single issue meeting has been convened to consider the Review and how its recommendations can be taken forward in the Warwick Rural West area to improve the work of the Community Forum.
The meeting will be chaired by Councillor Jose Compton and facilitated by Phil Evans, Warwickshire County Council’s senior officer representative at the Forum.
The meeting is open to all residents living in and around the villages to the west of Warwick. Community Forums are regular public meetings that allow you to raise issues or local concerns and are a way of keeping you up-to-date with what is happening in YOUR community.
Nick Gower-Johnson, the County Council’s Localities and Communities Manager, will set the scene by giving an update on the Review, the responses received from the public and next steps. Mike Snow, Warwick District Council’s senior officer representative for the Forum, will then talk about what this means for the district.
There will then be an opportunity for attendees at the meeting to discuss and vet the recommendations and responses from the councils, before discussing the way forward, including: how can the Forum can set policing priorities which are challenging targets; what the Forum’s view is of budgeting powers, devolution, big society and localism; and what the Forum can do to make sure it gets what it asks for.
The normal meeting format will be resumed for the next scheduled meeting on 27 January 2011, which will also take place at Shire Hall.
