Winter tree planting in country parks

Winter is traditionally the best time of year for tree planting and Warwickshire County Parks can offer people the opportunity to order that special tree for a loved one.

Warwickshire County Council has dedicated areas for commemorative woodlands at Kingsbury Water Park, Ryton Pools Country Park, Hartshill Hayes Country Park and Pooley Country Park. Full details, including costs, can be found at the Country Parks homepage at http://www.warwickshire.gov.uk/parks.

Each tree is planted in line with future management plans for the sites and in keeping with their type of species.

A pack of information has been produced which can be downloaded from the website, or you can order a copy from 01827 872660. The pack provides all the information you need on planting commemorative trees and installing benches as memorials and celebrations in and around the various Country Parks managed by Warwickshire County Council.

In addition to being commemorative, the trees also provide new habitat for wildlife and help to enhance the natural environment of the Country Parks they are planted in.
