Safety roadshow in a town near you

Back by popular demand, the Warwickshire Road Safety Partnership Roadshow will be visiting town centres to bring winter driving advice to motorists.

The roadshow will be coming to four of the county’s main shopping centres on the following dates:

Friday 3 December 2010 – Stratford-upon-Avon: Maybird
Monday 6 December 2010 – Nuneaton: Ropewalk
Friday 10 December 2010 – Rugby: Clock Towers
Monday 13 December 2010 – Leamington Spa: Royal Priors

At each venue representatives from Warwickshire County Council, Warwickshire Police & Warwickshire Fire & Rescue will be on hand to speak to people about all their road safety concerns.

Free SLOW DOWN wheelie bins stickers will also be made available to residents on the day. The stickers are part of the Road Safety Partnerships Speeding Wastes Lives campaign. Anyone who takes a sticker will be entered into a free prize raffle.

Warwickshire County Councillor Richard Hobbs, the cabinet member for community protection said: “These are important events, bringing together advice from police, the fire service and the county council to highlight the dangers of drink driving and speeding as well as advising people about safe winter driving.

"We encourage residents to take a short break from Christmas shopping to visit the stand and have a chat with the team.”

The road shows follow the success of previous events in October which attracted around 600 visitors over four days to the stands.
