Turn Back Time: Photos from the High Street
Christmas shoppers are invited to investigate how their local high street has changed over time, at a Warwickshire County Record Office event this weekend.
Turn Back Time: Photos from the High Street, takes place on Saturday 4 December from 9.30am to 11.30am at the County Record Office in Warwick.
The session has been developed to support the popular BBC1 TV programme: Turn Back Time: The High Street and gives local people the chance to come to the Record Office to see some photos from Warwickshire’s High Streets.
Attendees will get the chance to find out how their local High Street has changed over time and learn simple research skills to discover the stories behind Record Office photos. People are also invited to bring in some of their own photos to research.
For this special event there is no need to book, just drop in at the Record Office, Priory Park, Warwick any time between 9.30am and 11.30am on Saturday 4 December. This event is FREE.
Rowan Fisher, Learning and Outreach Officer at Warwickshire County Record Office, said: “We are looking forward to introducing the resources available at the Record Office that can help people research their local high streets.”
Warwickshire County Record Office is involved in safeguarding, managing and developing Warwickshire’s archives so that they can be accessed, interpreted and enjoyed by all those with an interest in Warwickshire’s past and its people.
