Country parks have a mark of quality
Two Warwickshire County Council Country Parks have been awarded the tourism industry’s highest accolade.
Kingsbury Water Park and Ryton Pools country parks have been awarded the famous Enjoy England Quality Rose mark which recognises the excellence of visitor attractions nationwide.
The Visitor Attraction Quality Assurance Scheme (VAQAS) is an accreditation from Enjoy England, the national official tourist body, which lists the best days out in the country.
Each attraction is assessed for the standard of customer care they provide for the visitor. The assessment includes all areas that impact on the quality of the visitor experience ranging from the initial enquiry through to departure. It focuses on the standard of the welcome, hospitality and service, presentation and the standard of facilities.
The overall range of content for both parks was considered to be very good and meets the needs of a wide range of visitors.
Cllr Alan Cockburn, Warwickshire County Council’s Portfolio Holder for Environment and Economy, said: “Raising the standards to meet or exceed customers’ expectations is very important for our service, especially considering the range of visitor attractions on offer in the West Midlands.
“This quality mark is recognition of how our country parks have now become first class tourist destinations in their own right and offer the highest standards for customers.
“Anyone having a day out at our parks will be able to enjoy an excellent visitor experience and sample some of the finest countryside in the land.”
The quality award ranks the country parks alongside such leading tourist attractions as Warwick Castle, The Tower of London, Hampton Court Palace and Blackpool Tower.
Enjoy England is the tourist board’s campaign to boost the industry in the domestic market. Its parent body Visit England works with tourism businesses to enhance and drive excellence in the quality of the visitor experience.
Visit England’s portfolio of Quality Assessed Schemes currently asses more than 24,000 accommodation businesses and over 800 visitor attractions.
