Don’t miss out on a school place for your child
Parents in Warwickshire are being reminded that the school application deadline is approaching for pupils starting primary school in September 2011.
Applications for children due to start school later this year need to be submitted by Monday January 17. Parents and carers are encouraged to apply online at http://www.warwickshire.gov.uk/admissions, alternatively applications can be completed over the phone or paper copies of the form can be requested by calling 01926 742037.
Letters confirming offer of a primary school place will be sent to parents on 18 April and parents will have two weeks to accept or decline these offers. Following this there will be a chance to appeal against any decisions.
Head of School Admissions, Nick Williams said: “Over 6000 children will receive an offer of a school place next year so it’s important to submit school preferences early. Applications received after the deadline will be considered as late and places will be allocated after those which reached us on time.
“The implication of this could mean that even if they live close to a school they might not get a place for their child if the school is over-subscribed so it is really important they meet this deadline.”
Full application details are available on the Warwickshire website, but more information is available from the Admissions Service on 01926 742037, 01926 742047 or email: admissions@warwickshire.gov.uk
