Red Box Lottery – glass glorious glass!

Residents served by Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council and North Warwickshire Borough Council have a chance to win £50 by simply recycling.

The Red Box Lottery is running throughout December and January, so make sure you put your recycling out every collection to be in with a chance of winning.

This week’s lucky winner was Hazel from St Nicholas Park in Nuneaton, who said: “I am so pleased to have won! I have recycled ever since the kerbside scheme started. It is a great system as there are so many different items that can be recycled using the boxes and bags.”

Councillor Bill Sheppard, portfolio holder for the Environment at Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council, said: “Congratulations to our fourth red box lottery winner, Hazel. Thank you to all of the residents of Nuneaton and Bedworth for your continued support with recycling. It is really positive to see just how many residents are making use of the scheme. Remember there is still time to win on the red box lottery, so please keep putting your recycling out for collection for another chance to win!”

Did you know?
Glass will never rot away. By recycling glass we are able to save the value resource from being lost at landfill forever.

In fact, recycling just two bottles saves enough energy to boil enough water for five cups of tea!

Glass placed in your red box is sent to Berrymans in Doncaster for sorting a processing. The glass is recycled into new bottles and jars, an aggregate substitute for use in road construction and golf course bunkers and fibreglass insulation.
