Fire and Rescue Service now on Twitter!

People looking to find out the latest news and views from Warwickshire County Council’s Fire and Rescue Service can now sign up to their Twitter site at http://twitter.com/warksfirerescue

Fire and Rescue Service now on Twitter!
The main aim of the site is to help local people access information about key services including free home fire safety checks and fire safety advice. It will also provide interesting and useful updates on incidents and what’s happening in their local area.

Deputy Chief Fire Officer, Gary Phillips said:
“As a Fire and Rescue Service we are keen to use a range of communication channels to engage with our communities. The new Twitter site is just another way for us to keep in touch with our residents and other fire and rescue services to highlight the work we are doing and to raise awareness of key issues such as having a working smoke alarm in the home.

“The updates will be daily and because Twitter is instant, we will now be able provide up to the minute safety advice to residents should a major incident happen near their home or place of work.”

Portfolio Holder for Community Protection, Councillor Richard Hobbs said:
“This is an exciting new development for the Service and we are pleased to be able to offer residents an alternative way to communicate with us. We are aiming to get as many followers as possible, so if you are on Twitter, then why not take a look and start following the Service to find out more about the wide range of work we do.”
