February events at County Record Office

Warwickshire’s County Record Office is offering a range of history based activities to the public at their base in Warwick throughout February.

Crime, Murder and Punishment on Saturday 5 February is the title of a talk by local historian Richard Churchley. The popular public speaker will give away details about some of the more intriguing crimes of Warwickshire and Worcestershire past and explain how he researched them. The session runs from 10am to 11.30am and is charged at £5, with refreshments provided.

Experienced local historian Christine Hodgetts will be helping people to using online resources to study local and house history on Saturday the 12 February. Booking for the session, which runs from 9.15am to 12.15pm, is £12 per person. Participants will be shown how to access useful information on the internet and plan their research.

Family history novices can get a lesson in how to find out about their ancestry on Monday 14 February with short course ‘Family History for Absolute Beginners’. The tutorial from 10.30am to 12pm costs £5 to attend.

All events take place at the County Record Office in Priory Park, Warwick. Places are in demand for each activity and must to be booked in advance by calling 01926 738959 to avoid disappointment.
