Expansion for ‘outstanding’ children’s centre
Bedworth Heath Nursery School and Children’s Centre is taking no time to rest on its laurels following an ‘outstanding’ Ofsted report, and has unveiled a raft of exciting plans for the future.
Headteacher Amanda King explained: “During the last 12 months the Nursery and Children’s Centre was subject to a consultation with professionals and the local community to decide its future role and remit. Responses revealed there was a strong desire to retain the facility and extend its remit as a Local Authority Centre of Excellence.
“This has been supported by an extension for us through use of the Early Years Capital Grant Funding which has provided purpose built facilities and enabled the setting to further extend the support it offers.
“The recent Children’s Centre inspection has provided the icing on the cake. We’re so pleased the inspectors recognised the hard work and dedication of staff with an Outstanding Ofsted judgment.”
Bedworth Heath Nursery School has been operation for over 50 years; in 2006 it became a Children’s Centre offering a range of extended services.
Bedworth Heath Nursery and Children’s Centre offers 15 hours free nursery education for 3 to 4 year olds in the pre-school year, paid for nurture sessions for two to three year olds and full day care, 50 weeks a year 8am to 5.30pm for working parents with children aged two to five years of age.
Cllr Heather Timms, Warwickshire County Council’s Portfolio Holder for Children, Young People and Families, said: “I’m delighted to see Bedworth Heath Nursery School and Children’s Centre receiving national recognition for their ‘outstanding’ work.”
