It’s a thriller at Warwick Library
Warwick Books and Warwickshire Libraries and Information Service, as part of their ‘Meet The Author’ series, are bringing another international best-selling writer, Sophie Hannah to Warwick Library next week.
The free event takes place on Wednesday 23 February at 7.00pm.
Specialising in psychological thrillers, Sophie Hannah will be talking about the latest work, ‘Lasting Damage’, which features a woman taking a virtual tour of a house that she is looking to buy and seeing a body lying face down in a pool of blood on her screen.
This is the latest in a series of works which have established Sophie’s reputation as one of the country’s foremost thriller writers, one of which ‘The Point of Rescue’ will be adapted for ITV later this year.
As well as having published five novels, Sophie is also a published poet and her work is studied as part of GCSE, A level and degree course curriculums.
Last week saw Emma Donoghue, the Irish novelist whose bestselling book ‘Room’ is a current literary phenomenon.
Keith Smith of Warwick Books said “ Lasting Damage is a gripping read as are all of Sophie’s thrillers. It’s a great delight and a privilege to be able to welcome her to Warwick”
Kate Mackie of Warwickshire Libraries said: “Our partnership with Warwick Books and the publishers, Hodder and Stoughton, brings together the resources and connections of each. The end result is a superb programme of author events at Warwick Library that are proving very popular with people in the community.”
Tickets are free and available from Warwick Library, Warwick Books and Kenilworth Books. This event is the latest in a series of great events organized by Warwick Books for their Spring 2011 programme (see http://www.warwickbooks.net/www.warwickbooks.net).
