British Tourism Week kicks off on Saturday, so why not pay a visit to a tourist attraction on your doorstep at one of Warwickshire’s Country Parks.
Admission to all our Country Parks is free - you only pay for parking! Visitors can take a stroll, cycle or even check out one of the weekend events.
Warwickshire County Council’s Country Parks are: Pooley Country Park, Kingsbury Water Park, Hartshill Hayes Country Park, The Kenilworth Greenway, Ryton Pools Country Park, The Offchurch Greenway, Ufton Fields Nature Reserve, The Stratford Greenway and Burton Dassett Hills Country Park.

At weekends in March at Pooley Country Park
Our popular craft table will be set up with seasonal materials for children to make something to take home with them. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

SATURDAY 12 MARCH
Kingsbury Young Anglers at Kingsbury Water Park
Angling tuition for children aged 8 to 14 years – come along and learn the essentials of good angling. Suitable for beginners or those with some experience; no equipment required.
Time: 1.00pm to 3pm
Meet: Broomey Croft entrance car park
Cost: £6.00 per child.

Creepy Crawly Kids Club at Ryton Pools Country Park
A fun session of environmental games and activities, exploring what’s in and around the park – held monthly throughout the year. Suitable for children aged 3 to 12 years.
Time: 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon.

Cost: £1.00 per child.
Birds of Prey at Ryton Pools Country Park
A regular event, with local birds of prey experts. Learn about these amazing creatures, meet the birds and see them fly.
Time: 11.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m.

Cost: FREE (apart from usual parking charge).
SATURDAY 19 MARCH
Volunteering at Ryton Pools Country Park
Come along and learn about practical country park management in the best way possible – by getting stuck in! Meeting one Saturday a month we will undertake a variety of practical work tasks such as pond clearance, fence repairs and hedge laying. No experience necessary as full training is given. Please bring sturdy footwear and suitable clothes for the weather conditions.
Time: 1.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m.
Meet: The Visitor Centre.
Cost: FREE event.
SUNDAY 20 MARCH
Bat Box Building at Kingsbury Water Park
Don’t forget that bats need homes too! Come along and build a bat box for your garden to give them a home for summer roosting. A family event suitable for children aged 4 to12 years. Time: 10.30 a.m. and 11.30 a.m. (2 sessions).
Meet: The Education Centre. Cost: £4.50 per box.

Let’s Go Fly A Kite at Hartshill Hayes Country Park
Come and make a kite, or bring along your own kite, fly it on the meadow and have some fun. A family event.
