Good Cave Keeping in Warwick

Families have been treated to trip back in time at Warwickshire Museum to discover what the county was like before the Romans came.

A family day was held to launch a new exhibition called ‘Good cave keeping – home living in ancient Britain’ which explores Warwickshire from 12,000BC to 430AD.

The family day was linked to the BBC’s Hands on History campaign and television series ‘A History of Ancient Britain’.

It provided an opportunity to meet John Lord, who featured on episode one of the programme. John spent all day at the museum demonstrating the ancient technique of making flint tools, called flint knapping.

The exhibition now continues in Warwickshire Museum in Market Place, Warwick.
