New charges for park and ride
Stratford Park and Ride is introducing a new fare from May - the first increase for two years.
On May 9 the cost of an adult return fare will go up from £1.50 to £1.70. All other fares other than the adult return fare will remain unchanged. Season tickets, child fares and family/group passes will remain at the same level.
Cllr Alan Cockburn, Warwickshire County Council’s Portfolio Holder for Environment and Economy, said: “Unfortunately, after keeping fares at the same level for the past two years, we will have to introduce a small increase but we still believe the Park and Ride is great value for money.”
Patronage of the scheme continues to increase with approximately 127,000 passenger journeys undertaken in 2010, an increase of 11.6 per cent compared to 2009.
