Take a walk on the wild side
Explore Warwickshire’s best views, woodlands and Country Parks with Warwickshire’s Wild Flowers author Stephen Falk.
Warwickshire County Council’s Heritage Education have organised a series of nature rambles guided by Steven Falk, the Keeper of Natural History at Warwickshire Museum.
Four walks will take place around the region taking in diverse places richly varied in terms of their flora and fauna. These walking tours are an opportunity to discover nature, enjoy a good walk and also to ask Steven questions of your own about Warwickshire’s natural heritage.
On Wednesday 11 May, the walk will take place at Clowes Wood, off Wood Lane, near Earlswood, Solihull (Grid Ref. SP10157433), meeting in the main car park off Wood Lane.
Walkers explore one of Warwickshire’s finest ancient woods, and see an amazing variety of ancient woodland indicators and bog-loving plants including some real rarities. Wellies or walking boots are recommended as there is some wet and uneven ground present along the proposed route.
Further walks will also take place on Wednesday 15 June at Nebsworth Downs, Wednesday 13 July at Burton Dasset Hills Country Park and on Wednesday 10 August at Edge Hill Woodlands.
All walks start at 10.00am and finish approximately 12.30pm.Tickets cost £6.00 each, Concessions £5.00. Booking is essential as spaces are strictly limited, so please telephone Heritage Education on 01926 412069 to book a place.
