What’s in your bin?

Warwickshire Waste Partnership is launching a countywide ‘Slim your bin’ campaign on the waste left in our wheeled bins, after results of a waste audit showed there is room for improvement.

Thanks to residents’ efforts, Warwickshire has been the country’s most improved shire local authority for recycling for the past two years, but the results show there is still some way to go, as a high proportion of waste being placed in the residual bin could have been recycled or composted.

Glenn Fleet, Warwickshire County Council’s Head of Waste Management, said: “Warwickshire residents have been working hard over the last few years to increase the amount of material they separate for recycling, and with increasing pressure on councils to meet savings, we need residents more than ever to ‘slim their bins’ and try and recycle as much as possible.”
